Australia Fair Grand Concert Organ
“Australia Fair” is a Belgium built traveling Concert Organ built in the workshops of Verbeeck’s Organ Works (Est 1884) in Antwerp. It is the only traveling Concert Organ in Australia and has entertained at all levels from local functions to “Yarralumla” – the residence of the Governor General of Australia.  
There has been a long tradition in England and Europe of having these instruments at local Festivals and Fairs and its fairground music provides a unique traditional carnival atmosphere to events. 
Beach Bocce & Gelati
Beach Bocce & Gelati is an opportunity to combine three things all Australians love: backyard rivalry, ice cream and the foreshore. We promise a sweet finish to every game even if backhand throwing and wrist flicking isn’t your forte. There’ll be a viewing area with a live DJ and Pidapipó gelato, made and served like the Italians do. Pidapipó’s flavours are made using raw fresh ingredients from Italian and local suppliers such as pistachios from Sicily, cheese from St Kilda cheesemongers La Formaggeria and honey from our very own rooftop hives in Carlton. 

Share the love at beyondblue’s special minivan – Van Valentine. There’ll be heaps of free info about mental health and staying well plus loads of fun activities – including low-cost grooming by the stylish barbers at Urban Man (all day) and nail art from the incredibly talented I Scream Nails team (2pm-4pm).  

Big Sing

A choice of two preparatory workshops, accessible to anyone (1 hr each). These will each have a singing leader who teaches 3-4 easy songs with 2 or 3 part harmonies, followed one hour later by a coming together of all participants to sing the rehearsed songs.

Bollywood Dance

Bindaas Dance Company has been performing at St Kilda Festival for many years now. Each year the audience has a great time participating in the interactive session after the performance. Not only is it very energetic and fun, but it is suitable for all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Bollywood dance is contagious and Bindaas will make sure the audience gets to experience the culture while learning how to dance like a star!

Bubble Soccer

We will be running 3 awesome activities for kids and adults including bubble soccer, human foosball and slip'n'slide soapy soccer.

Christ Church Open Day

Christ Church is perhaps the oldest church in St Kilda building having commenced in 1854. It contains some of the finest stained glass windows in the State of Victoria. Festival Sunday is an opportunity to promenade the interior and see not only the glass but also the historic furnishings.

Dancecity Productions & Filhos Da Bahia

Get ready to party, Brazilian Carnival style! Experience the energy, colour and rhythm of Rio's Carnival with percussionists playing live infectious samba rhythms accompanied by our gorgeous Brazilian Samba Showgirls. Check out our Brazilian Martial Artists playing Capoeira plus participate in our Axé and Samba dance demonstrations! Come along and party with us!

The D²Drumline are one of Australia's most in demand marching percussion ensembles. The group are known for their trademark grooves that will get heads nodding and toes tapping along to the infectious beat. Add a series of dazzling stick tricks and visuals to these funky grooves and you are guaranteed to be amazed by these talented percussionists.
Hare Krishna Ratha Yatra and Vedic Village
In 2016 the Hare Krishna Festival of the Chariots (Ratha-yatra) at the St Kilda Festival will present a Chariot Parade from 1pm which travels from the corner of Beaconsfield Parade & Fitzroy Street, St Kilda West right along the Jacka Boulevard, encouraging the many visitors to participate in pulling the Chariot with ropes. All the while there is chanting and dancing. 
Jewish Museum of Australia

Come and experience our award-winning, welcoming Museum - complimentary as part of the St Kilda Festival.  Stroll through our four permanent exhibition spaces: including Calling Australia Home, Timeline of Jewish History, The Jewish Year and Belief and Ritual. Guaranteed to be a highly engaging and cultural experience. 

Kids Fishing Clinic

Elwood Angling Club will run a kids fishing clinic where members will provide tuition to families on the art of angling and environment responsibility of our water ways. All gear and bait will be supplied by the club, as well as giveaways for some lucky participants.

Latin Quarter

This year the Latin Quarter will be showcasing all three New York Salsa styles: Boogaloo, Pachanga and Mambo.

Leading the NY Salsa revolution, Italian dancer-choreographer Salvatore Fuccio and Melbourne’s very own Juan Cretino will have you moving and grooving to very cool NY Latin sounds. Other dance classes featured during the afternoon are; Bachata Sensual, Brazilian Samba and Salsa Moderna.

Come to dance, sing and celebrate the traditional street South American Carnaval with La Descarga, Maracatu and Agobloco.

Le Bop Dance

Come and join in our fun and social Le Bop dance classes! Le Bop is a partner dance set to commercial music and is suitable for dancers and non-dancers alike.

Keep an eye out for the Lipton Ice Tea sampling stand at the St Kilda Festival this year. The team in yellow will be pouring refreshing cups of Lipton Ice Tea for you to enjoy all day long. Grab your favourite flavour, stay cool, and keep on dancing!

See the transformation of a blank urban wall into a vibrant piece of artwork, live on Fitzroy st. over the duration of a weekend. The creative duo known as 'Mayfield Palace' goes to work on one of their unique, collaborative pieces.

Pick up your free lovelock and share your special valentines message. Our Voulnteers will give you a hand to hang your lovelock in a tree along Fitzroy St.

Melbourne City Wrestling
For the first time ever, Melbourne City Wrestling presents the best professional wrestlers from across Australia, as well as independent names from around the world, at the St Kilda Festival.
MCW will present a unique brand of action packed sports entertainment, which is suitable for fans of all ages.

Experience Traditional Carnaval street music from Colombia, Recife and Rio de Janeiro, With La Descarga, Maracatu and Agobloco.

La Descarga: percussion, gaitas, voices and dance was born in 2009 and is a tribute to music from heart and soul, mixture of Afro-Colombia with an Australian touch.

Maracatu Estrela do Mar is a Melbourne-based Afro-Brazilian percussion group that plays Maracatu de Baque Virado and other rhythms from the northeast of Brazil.

Oriental Queens Bellydance

A spectacular bellydance show and workshop presented by students and teachers of Oriental Queens Bellydance

Premier’s Active April encourages all Victorians to do 30 minutes of physical activity a day during April.
It’s free, it’s fun and it’s part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to get more people active and healthy.

Reverse Vending Machine


Empty aluminium cans and plastic drink bottles.

All will be squashed and sorted by the Reverse Vending Machine and handed over for melting and re-shaping to be used again.


All recyclers will receive a randomly selected reward to be cashed in at the festival.



Rewind Dance Company

One of Melbourne’s most respected dance crew, Rewind, provides dance shows, dance classes and original choreography for community and industry events, assisting in the promotion of hip hop dance in Australia.

Featuring approxmately 14 dancers with a professional dance history ranging over a period of 15 years, establishing a professional and reliable work ethic with limitless creativity and energy per performance.

Heart Central will be an interactive and diverse activation, showcasing Sacred Heart Mission's services to raise awareness and much needed funds for those experiencing homeless and disadvantage in our local community.  It will appeal to many festival attendees as it will have something for everybody, from a sausage sizzle, to merchandise and jewellery sales and children's activities.

The St Kilda Football Club will launch its exciting new community program – Junction Studio – at St Kilda Festival.

Junction Studio is where the Saints intersects and collaborates with the community. It’s another way of continuing to open up the Club and reconnect with supporters, partners and friends in fresh and creative ways.

St Kilda Tourism & Events is a membership-based organisation that provides leadership in promoting, marketing and developing our visitor experience in St Kilda.  We work to increase visitation to St Kilda and surrounding areas and ensure tourists from inner Melbourne, the State of Victoria, Nationally and International become our economic driver for our broader community and local businesses.

Stiletto Entertainment

Stilletto Entertainment are a unity of 6 dancers, specialising in the fusion of burlesque, commercial hip hop and dancehall/funk fronted by power house vocalists and song writer Bianca Modesti and Natalie Modesti.

Stilt Divas

The STILT DIVAS are the ultimate party and event entertainment. This group of 10 performers are busy performing all over Victoria and often interstate. Each Stilt Diva is stunningly beautiful and have backgrounds in dance, circus, performing arts, gymnastics, theatre and trampoline.

The Stilt Divas will GET THE PARTY STARTED by creating an incredible magical ambience and making guests feel thrilled on arrival. If there is music playing the STILT DIVAS will explode into a dance set, defying any logic of how this can be done balancing so high!

Strut Dancers: A Taste of Latin America

Strut Dancers present "A Taste of Latin America". A captivating floor show that will transport you to the streets of South America with its hypnotic rhythms and beats. 

Swing Patrol has a huge dance community and people now move to Melbourne from all over the world to be part of it (true!). The dancers can be seen most weekends in summer at festivals, events and pop ups, with swing the must-do activity at the St Kilda Festival. Come and get moving, learn some steps, have a laugh and fill your heart with wonderful swing music from the 20's through to today. It's fun and you get to learn a life skill as well, for use at weddings or parties or just to use in your living room. Families, singles, oldies, kids, hipsters, emos and everyone else welcome.

TAC Vanessa

If you like free things, comfortable things or places with a good view, we’re the destination for you (that rhymed so it must be true). Take a picture that isn’t a selfie in our photo booth, test your know-how to win prizes, or get a free breath test before you head home.

Toco Tucano Entertainment is an exciting and colourful Brazilian/Latin and Showgirl/Funk performance troupe. With the option of combining live music and dance, we perform styles such as Brazilian Showgirl Samba, Reggeaton (Latin Hip Hop), Axe, Hip Hop and Capoiera.

The Vic Open is the premiere beach volleyball event in Victoria. We will have over 100 of the best beach volleyball athletes from around Australia and the world fighting to be the overall champions. The Vic open is part of the Australian National Beach Volleyball Tour. We will be playing the preliminary rounds on the Saturday at south Melbourne beach and finals all day on Sunday in St Kilda. We have both men’s and women’s teams competing.

Victorian Roller Derby League Roving Skaters
The Victorian Roller Derby League (VRDL) is a women’s Flat Track Roller Derby league founded in Melbourne at the start of 2007. VRDL is currently ranked at #4 internationally and has recently come back from a massive 3rd place win at championships in the U.S., making them the first team from outside North America ever to achieve such a feat. 

The World’s Largest High Heel Race is a Guinness World Record attempt to raise funds and awareness for young people diagnosed with cancer. Wear a heel, share the feel.  Registrations now open:
