Kummargii Yulendji Gadabah

Kummargii Yulendji Gadabah is a Contemporary Boonwurrung Ceremony created by N'artweet Carolyn Briggs & Douglas & Mackay - closing the First Peoples Festival. This year we honour our Mother the Earth, all women (regardless of gender & culture) & the children they raise & protect. In these confusing & troubled times, we focus on the desperate need to cherish them - and protect them from harm. Together, with knowledge, we face the urgent need to care for country by acting on climate change & preventing harm against women & children across the planet. The audience are invited to participate by writing on 'clooties' (cloths) for healing.
