Hare Krishna Ratha Yatra and Vedic Village
In 2016 the Hare Krishna Festival of the Chariots (Ratha-yatra) at the St Kilda Festival will present a Chariot Parade from 1pm which travels from the corner of Beaconsfield Parade & Fitzroy Street, St Kilda West right along the Jacka Boulevard, encouraging the many visitors to participate in pulling the Chariot with ropes. All the while there is chanting and dancing.
As well there is all day entertainment in the Catani Gardens where the Vedic Village is held and features a Free stage program and events such as Mantra Music, Drama & Dance, Classes in International Vegetarian Cuisine, FREE Watermelon, Hare Krishna Food, Body Art, Face Painting, Magician & Clown, meditation and inter-faith booths and much more.
And this year is a very special year as we are celebrating 50 years that the Hare Krishna Movement has been in the Western World. So we are going to make the event even more spectacular with lots of extra activities and stalls.
